Letter
received from
Bob Allen in New
Zealand. Bob when resident in the UK,
represented the
Association of Motion Picture
Sound during the
1990s in organising the two
BFI plaques in St.Helens
and London which recognise George
Groves’ achievements. A former film
and television sound practitioner himself
with a
distinguished
career, Bob in
retirement is an expert on the early
days of sound films.
He’s been through the site with a fine tooth comb and in his letter pointed out a few factual inaccuracies which we immediately rectified. He writes:
“Congratulations on the George Groves web site. You have done an excellent job getting it all together in a straightforward understandable chronicle of George’s life, work and times”.
